Road Traffic Accident - The Modern Killer
In this project, I discussed the role of IT in the prevention of car accidents in the US, in order to reduce the number of accidents through data analysis and to find effective solutions to ensure reducing the loss of life and equipment.
The dataset for this project originates from kaggle. It can be downloaded here. The dataset was donated by Moosavi, Sobhan, Mohammad Hossein Samavatian, Srinivasan Parthasarathy, and Rajiv Ramnath, after being published in the article “A Countrywide Traffic Accident Dataset”
Is it possible to reduce the number of car accidents to zero? Sounds impossible, but with the use of information technology a huge impact can be made in terms of reducing that number.
Action: This project focuses on identifying the patterns of how these serious accidents happen and the key factors affecting accident severity in the US. The implementation of information technology in the form of big data can effectively reduce the number of accidents noteworthily and we might be able to implement well-informed actions and better allocate financial and human resources.
